Day 2 outfits

Gina wearing a simple black wife-beater style tank and a bright magenta, umbro-like material high-waisted skirt. To snazz it up a bit she perfectly matches her trendy black and pink sunglasses she snagged while we were in Rome this past May( whatafind!)

I am dressed in a black ,cotton, off-the-shoulder tunic/shirt/dress(depends on the day!) with a tight black and brown safari-esque printed skirt with a thin stretchy gold belt with amazing detail as well as shiny gold and brown sunglasses to tie back in the brown up top. I am also wearing lots-o-flare as well as some really cute and rather large gold studs.

Oh yeah- and lots and lots of HAIR!

Chicago, Chicago

Now, I find myself to be a fairly well-traveled individual and I must emphatically say that Chicago, is, with out a doubt, my favorite city in all of the world. Don't get me wrong, the most foreign places can be spectacular but it seems the most comfortable for practical and inspiring living space.

This is my third summer in Chicago. Each of which I have traveled there for the infamous Lollapalooza music festival. The word "Lollapalooza" is an idiom indicating "remarkable or wonderful person or thing." Pretty appropriate if you ask me! Way to go, Perry! Any who, there are so many intricacies to be mentioned- the melting pot of the hippest people you have ever seen, dance party after dance party, architecture, city-scapes, the EL, food, ah so many city sounds! People watching and conversation, connecting-dancing, meeting and greeting while your mind shreds with unbelievable music. Its ridiculous and I highly reccomend it.

Since I have been considering this blog for quite some time, I decided that while in Chicago and having the time of my life that I would put my eye for inspiring street-wear to work with my people watching skills and take some photos. I'll show you how just people watching( IN CHICAGO!) can be inspiring.

These are photos I took of all kinds of people- apparel, accessories, shoes, hair styles...

Here you have it, loves!

Welcome!

Upon arriving home from The Windy City after a long weekend of show-going and people-watching, I have finally been inspired enough to sit down and start this blog. So, I suppose the most important part is to explain briefly, yet thoroughly, my concept. First, you must know, I am a SLAVE to FASHION. I go to sleep thinking of pieces in my closet I can resurrect and pair with something different, something new. I lay awake dreaming of accessories and a-line. Its a problem. But, one defining feature of my enslavement is that although I LOVE expensive clothes, etc. I simply cannot afford it. It is a rare occasion I will go boutique or department store shopping. Some items are splurge-able(later to be discussed,) yet on the whole I have found a fool-proof system in which you can LOOK expensive without BEING expensive. I have always been doted on for my creative sense of style- "I wish I could pull that off"s and "I wish I could afford that"s Well ladies and gents- The jig is up!!! I spend almost nothing on many and most of my favorite pieces. And now, my secret is yours. If you follow my advice and hopefully continue to follow my blog, I can assure you that fashion will become a little easier and as promised, a little cheaper! So lets get this TRENDY AND THRIFTY party started!
